FFY 2026 Community Development Block Grant Program
On behalf of the Columbia County Board of Commissioners, we are pleased to announce the Federal Fiscal Year 2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program is open. Utilizing funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the Pennsylvania Entitlement Program, as enacted by Pennsylvania Act 179, the benefits this program will yield for the county are exciting.
For Federal Fiscal Year 2026, Columbia County will receive approximately $253,000.
Eligible activities include: broad areas of housing, community infrastructure, economic development, and public services.
Specific activities may include but are not limited: property acquisition for demolition, preservation, and conservation of open spaces, and recreation and development.
Funds may also be used by municipal authorities or municipalities for public works, water and sewage development/improvement, and the removal of architectural barriers. All projects must have a direct benefit to low-moderate-income residents, elimination of slums and blight, and/or elimination of urgent threats to health and safety. Although your municipality may not be primarily low income, there could be areas within your municipality that would qualify. The Redevelopment Authority can assist in this determination.
An information session will be held on June 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. VIA ZOOM to receive input and solicit project activities. Our meeting ID is 570 784 9373. This session is also for the purpose of explaining the program and handing out project submissions applications.
All project applications must be submitted to the Columbia County Redevelopment Authority by July 24, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.
If you have any questions regarding the program, please contact Deputy Executive Director Betsy Rubio at (570) 394-4200 or brubio@cchrapa.org.
