Columbia County intends to submit an application to the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) for $252,335 for the use of Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2026 Community Block Grant (CDBG) funds.

The proposed project activities to be included as a part of the application are as follows:

• Project 1 – Administration: $45,400
• Project 2 – Blight: $45,885
• Project 3 – Catawissa Fire Department: $32,900
• Project 4 – Bloomsburg Town Hall: $128,150

A Public Hearing will be held on October 1, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. to receive public comments. This hearing will be held through Zoom (meeting ID: 5707849373). The Columbia County Commissioners intend to formally ratify the application at their regular scheduled meeting on October 15, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Written public comments are invited until 4:00 p.m. October 14, 2026, on the proposed use of FFY 2026 CDBG funds, with comments being submitted by email to Betsy Rubio, Deputy Executive Director, at brubio@cchrapa.org or in person at 160 W. 6th St, Suite 101, Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
